In the Delphi 12.2 IDE, if I select something to search for, then hit CtrlF, the Search selection checkbox automatically gets checked (as does the Entire Scope checkbox, but that does not bother me):
The result is that I always get an initial hit on what I just selected. Is there a way to prevent that (waste of time)?

Reset to default 1Once you find it is easy:
Just don't select the word you want to find. Put the cursor in it, then search. The whole word will still be searched for but the checkbox remains blank:
