I am trying to install the latest Deeplabcut version (2.3.11) on a Compute Canada machine using conda (Today's date: March 12, 2025).

The machine specification is this: Linux beluga2.int.ets1.calculquebec.ca 4.18.0-553.40.1.el8_10.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Feb 13 13:28:49 UTC 2025 x86_64 Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6148 CPU @ 2.40GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

My python version in the conda environment is Python 3.10.16 and my pip version in the conda environment is Pip 25.0.1.

However, after I set up a conda environment and do pip install deeplabcut, I get the following error:

I did try to follow their instructions and load the opencv module with: module load opencv. But after completing that I get the exact same error message.

Any clues to what is happening?
