I have a problem when trying to change the project URL in my ASP.NET webforms project. I want to change this because, for security reasons, an application does not allow testing locally, as it requires ALWAYS USING AN IP OR DOMAIN NAME; otherwise, it will block it for security reasons.

I have added 127.0.0.1 prueba12 to the hosts file, but I don't know what else I can do.

Then, if I go to Properties → Web → Project URL and set it to :44302/, and then try to create a virtual directory, it does not create it because it tells me that I must specify localhost as the server name.

Reset to default 1

Run Visual Studio as administrator and change the properties of the project for using "Local IIS". Then just use the default server localhost for the url: http://localhost/prueba12 and click on "Create Virtual Directory". Run the application.

Alternatively it is possible to create your own local server in IIS if you want to customize the configuration and url.
