I can communicate with the 5G module from a Raspberry Pi running the latest Raspberry Pi OS via the serial interface without any issues. However, when I attempted the same on my Windows 11 laptop, I encountered problems. Despite installing the required Windows driver, the 5G module does not appear in the Device Manager list.
As a first troubleshooting step, I added the legacy driver for COM ports. This allowed me to see a COM port section, but unfortunately, no additional devices were detected. I then tried several solutions, including plugging and unplugging the 5G module, powering it on and off, and performing a hard reset, but none were successful.
At this point, I am unsure how to establish communication with the module from my Windows machine.
The steps I followed for configuring Windows 11 are described here: Waveshare SIM8200EA-M2 5G HAT.
