I installed the Geany Editor on Windows and tried to change the path for the documents in the sidebar. I was hoping that changing the Startup path and Project files path in the preferences will change the path of the documents in the sidebar. But these settings do nothing to the sidebar. The folder still stays on .\untitled.

How can I change the path, so that Geany will show all the files and folders in that path?

This sidebar widget is a list of your open documents and shows the actual name of the documents (or as by an option) the path of it, too. For a more file system like apporach try out the treeviewer plugin. Some other plugins (as the project one) are also including some context
