There is git maintenance that allows running some caching in background, speeding up some git operations.

I want to temporarily pause it across all repositories.

How can I do this?

If that matters I am on Lubuntu 24.04.

Reasons for that may include things like running backup (so I prefer to not copy repo in inconsistent state, and I want to be able to easily compare files on computers with backuped and unpacked)

I guess that some like git maintenance stop may work - though it may be needed to restart computer I guess? Docs are not clear on this.
