I am looking to draw samples from a population based on the distribution of some key columns in another population.

For example, in population1 the proportion of males is 30% and that of females is 70%, similarly 40% are between ages 10-50 while 60% are above 51 yrs of age.

How can I sample from population2 preserving the same proportions?

Looking for solutions in either SAS or Teradata.

I know how to do it if drawing a sample for test and control from the same population but in this I would need to define the proportions for each strata
