Maximo is the only IBM application used in my workplace installed in a windows server. I have installed Tivoli’s process iFix patches before, but now I needed to update WebSphere Application Server from 9.0.5.14 to 9.0.5.22.

I installed the following packages at version 9.0.5.22:

  • IBM HTTP Server V9.0
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server V9.0
  • Web Server Plug-ins for IBM WebSphere Application Server V9.0
  • WebSphere Customization Toolbox V9.0

Additionally, I applied IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 8 (8.0.7.20).

Now, I'm able to access and use the WebSphere Integrated Solutions Console, but I cannot start my WebSphere applications (Maximo and MaximoBatch). Also, I cannot do any action on the nodes from the System Administration section in the console.

I’m receiving these errors:

  • ErrorServer cannot be started because the node agent for server MXBATCH01 on node Node01 is not active
  • ErrorThe synchronize operation can not be performed on node Node01 because its node agent is not active.

I have tried starting and syncing the node agent and the Deployment Manager (dmgr) using the .bat files in the following folders: \IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01\bin \IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\Dmgr01\bin

Despite this, the same errors persist. Any suggestions on what to check or how to get the node agent running again are much appreciated!

The bat files Im using are:

  • stopNode.bat
  • startNode.bat
  • serverStatus.bat [servername]
  • startServer.bat [servername]
  • syncNode.bat

Those are basically the bat files that ive been playing with. and also, I have turn off the following services and turned on after to check the websphere web console:

  • IBMHTTPServerV9.0
  • IBMWAS90Service - CellManager01
  • IBMWAS90Service - IBM WebSphere Application Server V9.0 - Node01
